The Purple Tang is a striking blue-to-purple fish with a yellow tail, native to the Red Sea and surrounding waters. Adults reach 10 inches and are prized for their vibrant coloration. They require spacious tanks with plenty of hiding spots and strong lighting. These fish can be aggressive toward similar-shaped tank mates, particularly other Tangs. Feed them marine-based seaweed and algae at least three times weekly to boost immunity and reduce aggression. Best suited for experienced aquarists maintaining large reef or fish-only systems.
