It is nocturnal and burrows into deep sand substrates while searching for food. This starfish also eats small invertebrates and requires a varied diet in established marine tanks. It should be kept away from predators like Puffers and cannot tolerate sudden water changes or copper medications. Proper acclimation using drip methods is essential to maintain its health.
